KC Edible Schoolyards

The KC Edible Schoolyards project will focus on schools using food gardens as a tool to teach children about nutrition and healthy eating habits as they participate in the process of planting a food garden and growing food crops. Students will also have the opportunity to develop gardening skills and to learn more about plant science through their experience in the garden. The cost to participate in the program is a $2 annual membership which includes: 10 packages of seeds, Additional seed packages for $.20 each, Plants in season for $.75 per six-pack, 5-lb bag of fertilizer, Quarterly newsletter, And optional tilling services (tiller rental is $6, with tilling small gardens $6, large gardens $12) Contact Andrea for more info or visit the website For more information click here
