Who are we? We are advocates for a strong local food system that provides healthy, sustainable and affordable foods for everyone living in Greater Kansas City.
The Greater Kansas City Food Policy Coalition is an alliance of individuals, organizations, businesses and government representatives representing all critical components of our local food system, including health care, agriculture, education, social services, food distribution, government, private business, nonprofit agencies and others. But most importantly, we are consumers. We want the food eaten by our families, our children and our neighbors to be the best for our bodies, our environment and our local community.
Our mission is to advocate for a healthy food system and promote policies that positively impact the nutritional, economic, social and environmental health of Greater Kansas City. We promote cooperation among segments of the food system and the connection between local producers and local consumers. We are dedicated to improving the local food system.
If you eat, you have a stake in our local food system. Interested in getting involved? Sign up for updates about local activities that you can participate in to improve our food system in Greater Kansas City. And be sure to participate in our Eat Local for the Holidays campaign.
